Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Reports

01/13/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 2:09 p.m. CCSO deputies were dispatched to Jefferies Highway regarding a larceny that occurred at the thrift store. Two animal hide rugs were taken from a display located in the parking lot at the front of the store by a female who drove off in a black Ford Ranger.

01/13/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 6:45 p.m. an officer was dispatched to call the victim, via telephone regarding being scammed for $30,000. Victim stated that they received a link on their computer telling them to click it due to being hacked for over $500 on Jan. 12 around 11 a.m. After clicking the link, they were directed to live person who in return directed them to withdraw $30,000 in cash and deposit it into Bit Coin. After the transaction, they provided the person with transaction number. Victim said she reported the scam to her bank.

01/16/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 12:05 a.m. CCSO responded to Augusta Highway regarding a customer who was involved in an argument and displayed a handgun.

01/16/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 3:43 p.m. deputies responded to Mable T. Willis Boulevard in reference to a walk up wanting to report stolen goods from their residence on Mallard Street.

01/17/23-WALTERBORO: All of team 2 responded to a location regarding to a resident being shot at several times by unknown suspects.

01/17/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 3:43 p.m. deputies stationed at Colleton County Middle School. Officer was requested over the school radio to assist a School Administrator with a student in regarding a possible larceny. Upon further investigation, the student was found in possession of a weapon on school property.

01/17/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 8:43 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Snider’s Highway in reference to a report about two subjects stabbing the complainant’s dog and then refusing to leave the property. Subsequent investigation revealed that the dog was stabbed at approximately 10:30 p.m. the previous night and the suspect claimed the dog was attacking him before he stabbed the dog with a kitchen knife. Animal Control units responded and took possession of several dogs for a forensic veterinarian evaluation.

01/17/23-WALTERBORO: An officer responded to Grayson Street regarding to the caller’s vehicle being shot the night before.
