TV carted away
On Nov. 21, Dixie Furniture employees reported watching a man pushing a buggy holding a television and other items, then walking out the door and leaving.
Walterboro police officers found the suspect and brought him back to the store with the merchandise. The man said he took the items as a joke and yelled “deuces” as he was running. He was arrested and taken to jail.


Mattress taken
from yard
A Mable T. Willis Blvd. resident reported someone took a boxed king-sized mattress from her yard on Nov. 30.
She had ordered the bed, but was gone from the residence on Sept. 7-11. She did receive the bed frame, but the mattress never came and she thought it was on back-order. Then she got a bill for the mattress and became suspicious.


Shots fired at Keegan Drive area
Colleton County deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Keegan and Belmont drives on Nov. 30.
A victim said someone shot at him as he was turning onto Belmont Drive. He was grazed on the right rear shoulder, denied medical attention but agreed to be transported to the hospital by family.
He said he was driving down Keegan Drive when a car pulled out from Taft Street behind him. He heard several gunshots and his vehicle’s back window blew out.
The deputy observed the blown out rear window, an apparent bullet hole in the back-passenger door area and a flat passenger side tire with what appeared to be a bullet hole though the plastic wheel well. The windshield also had an apparent bullet hole in it.


Man on bond found with gun
On Nov. 29 deputies stopped a vehicle on Charleston Highway for speeding. The passenger admitted to having marijuana and a gun under the car’s seat.
Deputies found a .40 caliber Glock and a marijuana joint on the passenger seat.
The passenger, however, was on bond for attempted murder and was wearing ankle monitor.
He was arrested for unlawful carry of a handgun and taken to jail.

Fake PayPal
support number
A Round O man lost $1,500 after he called what he thought was a PayPal support number on Nov. 29. He was having problems with his PayPal account and called what he thought was a support number, but he never authorized payments. He did give the “support person” his banking information.
The next day he noticed the $1,500 was missing from his account.

Man arrested after shots fired
Deputies arrested a man at Kronman Court and Pleasant Grove Road after residents reported shots fired.
The offender reportedly arrived with a firearm and pointed it at the victim, while others on the scene discharged rounds from their firearms. The offender was charged with pointing and presenting a firearm.


Vandalized with blue cheese
A Smoak Road resident reported that on Thanksgiving Day, someone cut the convertible top of his 2006 Ford Mustang and dumped crumbled blue cheese into the vehicle, causing an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Camper reported stolen
A Peirce Road, Ridgeville, resident reported someone took his 2005 white 27-foot Jayco camper from his residence on Nov. 27.


Electric meter stolen
A Maxwell Street resident returned from vacation on Nov. 26 to find her home had been ransacked and her electric meter stolen.


Stove reported stolen
A Jacksonboro resident reported someone broke into his Round O home and took a General Electric stove on Nov. 30.
The front door was forced open with burglary tools, the door frame broken and the deadbolt lock still in the locked position. He had worked at the house, which was being preparing for sale, on the previous day and locked all the doors before leaving.
