Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Reports

01/11/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 7:31 p.m. an officer responded to Proctor Street regarding a stolen bike.

01/12/23-WALTERBORO: An officer responded to Southland regarding items being stolen from an apartment.

01/12/23-WALTERBORO: An officer responded to Briarleaf Circle regarding two vehicles shooting at each other while traveling down industrial Road. One of the bullets hit the caller’s R.V.

01/12/23-WALTERBORO: An officer responded to Live Oak Street, regarding the theft of a gun. 22 Caliber with Brown Woodstock.

01/15/23-WALTERBORO: At approximately 1:25 p.m., officers responded to Cooler’s Dairy Road regarding stolen packages.

Walterboro Police Department Reports

01/10/2023: FINANCIAL IDENTITY FRAUD AND FORGERY NO DOLLAR AMOUNT - Officers were patrolling the area of Sniders Highway, when officers observed a vehicle make an abrupt turn on Beach Road, failing to properly signal. A traffic stop was conducted. After contacting the driver and gaining probable cause for a search, a glass pipe, containing presumptive meth residue as well as several papers containing personal information such as SSN, DOB, full names, etc, were discovered. The driver was arrested and transported to CCDC for financial identity fraud.

1/11/2023: SHOPLIFTING 1ST OFFENSE $2,000 OR LESS - Units were dispatched to Parkers regarding a subject walking out with food. Officers spoke with the manager who stated that she observed a woman order food, acquired the food, and pass all points of purchase. The video provided did validate what was stated. The subject was wearing a red shirt with blue jeans. The subject then left the store in a black Volvo SUV.

1/12/2023: LEAVING THE SCENE OF ACCIDENT W/ PROPERTY DAMAGE - Officers responded in reference to leaving the scene of a collision on Church Street.

1/11/2023: FAILURE TO STOP FOR BLUE LIGHTS, LEAVING THE SCENE OF ACCIDENT W/ PERSONAL INJURY, UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF PISTOL, POSSESSION OF FIREARM OR AMMUNITION BY PERSON CONVICTED OF VIOLENT FELONY, POSSESSION W/I DIST AMPHETAMINE W/I PROX SCHOOL, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, NO SOUTH CAROLINA DRIVERS LICENSE, OPERATING UNINSURED VEHICLE -Officers observed a blue Buick with no license plate. as officers attempted to stop the vehicle the passenger fled into the woods and the vehicle failed to stop for blue lights and sirens.

1/11/2023: GRAND LARCENY OVER $2,000 BUT UNDER $10,000-Officers responded to a larceny from vehicle.

1/11/2023: LEAVING THE SCENE OF ACCIDENT W/ PERSONAL INJURY- The officer responded to the area of North Lucas Street and East Washington Street for a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

1/13/2023: MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT-Officer responded to Bailey Street regarding a stolen vehicle.

1/14/2023: MALICIOUS INJURY TO TREE, HOUSE: TRESPASS UPON REAL PROPERTY $2,000 OR LESS - Officers were dispatched to Hampton Street, in reference to a neighbor stating she could hear banging in the house next door but was concerned due to the house being vacant. While officers were en-route, the caller stated several white juveniles had fled from behind the house but could not provide a better description. Once officers arrived on the scene, an outdoor/indoor perimeter sweep was conducted. Once at the back of the residence, officers observed the glass window of the back door busted out and after entering the home, an indoor dining room window was found broken as well as an indoor kitchen window with a brick in the hallway.

1/15/2023: DISORDERLY CONDUCT and MALICIOUS INJURY TO ANIMALS, PERSONAL PROPERTY $2,000 OR LESS - Officers were dispatched to Colleton Medical in reference to escorting a subject of the property that had been discharged. Once on the scene and escorted the subject to the front door, he shoved computers from the emergency room front desk to the floor. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
