Man arrested
A man was arrested on Ulmer Lake Road on Oct. 28, charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, unlawful carrying of a handgun and possession of a controlled substance in Schedule One.
Residents waved down a passing deputy, telling him the suspect was under the influence of drugs and came to the home and began arguing with family members. When told to leave, he reportedly pulled a black 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and pointed it at a victim.
The deputy said the suspect was unlawfully carrying a firearm and in possession of 20 tablets of Trazodone.
He was arrested.
Attempted
vehicle theft
A Sniders Highway resident reported his vehicle was broken into and the ignition tampered with on Oct. 31.
Deputies find stolen car
On Oct. 31, Colleton County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle for moving violations, only to find the vehicle had been reported stolen on Oct. 19 and the driver’s license was suspended. The vehicle was towed and will be returned to its owner.
Shot into home
A Danville Lane resident reported to deputies that someone shot through his bedroom window on Nov. 1. No one was injured.
Church van
vandalized
On Nov. 2 the catalytic converter was reported stolen from the Bethlehem Baptist Church van. The van had been parked for about three months, so it is not known when the part was taken.
Car break-in

A Herndon Street resident reported to the sheriff’s office that someone tampered with her car.
Responding deputies found the vehicle’s side door appeared to have been pried at the top and the front of the door jam had tool marks.
The suspect did not succeed in opening the vehicle. Numerous other vehicles in the yard were not damaged.
Boat reported stolen
A Double Bogey Lane resident reported that sometime last week, his 17-foot Lowe Stryker boat was taken.
Ruffin burglary
Three people were arrested on Patriot Lane, Ruffin, on Oct. 28, charged with grand larceny under $10,000, third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Armed robbery at Dollar General
A man reportedly came into the Dollar General on ACE Basin Parkway, Jacksonboro, on Oct. 29, pointed a handgun at the clerk and asked for all of the money. He then ran out of the store with approximately $1,400.
The Walterboro Police canine officer responded, but did not locate the suspect.
The suspect was described as skinny, short black curly hair, about 5”10” and 180 pounds wearing a white t-shirt, blue hoodie with writing on the back, black pants and white Nike shoes.
Three firearms taken
A Fennell Lane, Round O, resident reported someone kicked in the front door of the residence and stoke three firearms. No one was home at the time of the burglary.
