Simple assault
Walterboro police responded to a report of an assault Sunday, Aug. 30 in the 300 block of Blanchard St.
According to a police report, the interview took place in the 500 block of Robertson Blvd.
The female subject alleged she was assaulted by a male who pushed her onto a bed twice as she was attempting to leave the Blanchard location.
While attempting to leave the house the male allegedly wrapped his arms around the female, however she was able to eventually leave the house.
The female complained of stomach pains and went to Colleton County Medical Center for observation.
Traffic stop
yields arrest
A county deputy performed a traffic stop shortly after 11 a.m. on Sept 3 for an improper dealer tag.
The driver identified himself and a female passenger in the front seat.
The male driver told the officer he did not have his license on him, but that he did have one.
The deputy asked to search the vehicle, and the driver consented.
The deputy found an SC ID card that had someone else’s name, but a picture that matched the driver.
As the search continued, the deputy found another SC ID and an inmate card with a different name, but again, a picture matching the female passenger.
The passenger said she had a twin sister by the other name.
The deputy found a black bag containing a scale, small plastic bags and two containers of white pills with a mark of 54 411 written on them.
Both were placed under arrest – the male for possession of a controlled substance, and the female was issued a citation.
Financial forgery
Someone contacted the Colleton County Sheriff’s Department on Sept. 3 requesting a report be filed about a cash app information being stolen and used to duplicate a cash card and make unauthorized purchases.
The victim said he did not give out the information or permission to make purchases that amount to fraud.
The victim was advised that CCSO would not be investigating this incident because it happened outside the county. But that he could contact the authorities of the county of location and file the report there.
Grand larceny
A CCSO deputy was dispatched a phone call in reference to stolen parts from some heavy equipment at 8:30 on Sept. 2.
The deputy met the complainant and was given the approximate area of the theft and contact information of the supervisor.
The crew on site arrived about an hour before the complaint and noticed that their John Deere ‘Boom-tractor’ was missing two lift hydraulics and a battery.
The lifts were valued at approximately $1,500 and $100 for the battery.
Shoplifting
A CCSO deputy was dispatched to the 16,500 block of Ace Basin Parkway in reference to a shoplifting incident at the Circle C Express business.
According to the report, the suspect entered the store and took two 18-packs of beer and a carton of cigarettes before leaving the store. The suspect fled the scene in a blue, four-door vehicle in the direction of Charleston County on Ace Basin Pkwy.
