Chase started at Colleton Heights
On May 25, a Walterboro Police officer spotted a Black Chevy Silverado, going through the parking lot at Colleton Heights at a high rate of speed. The vehicle also had a possible stolen license plate.
When the officer turned on his blue lights, the driver accelerated to 30 mph in the parking lot, then turned left on Beach Road and sped up to 100 mph and over.
After passing Wildlife Lane, the driver turned into a home and the officer said he saw him go inside. The home’s owner answered the door and said the man just ran into the house.
When he came to the door, the suspect had changed clothes and donned a hat.
His driver’s license had been previously suspended. When arrested, his luck got worse. Officers reportedly found a glass pipe and multiple white pills later determined to be oxycodone. A second glass pipe was found in the vehicle, which belonged to the suspect’s grandmother. The license plate was reported stolen in St. George.
