Church broken into in Smoaks
Someone broke into Little Swamp Baptist Church, 4689 Lodge Hwy., Smoaks, between Feb. 23 and March 1. The suspect cut a screen in an unlocked window to gain access. Nothing was reported taken. However, a key was found on a front pew, possibly belonging to the suspect.

Arrests at CCHS
A juvenile was arrested for possession with intent to distribute drugs near Colleton County High School on March 3.
A juvenile was arrested for possession of marijuana, first offense, at Colleton County High School on Feb. 26.

Motorcyclist
arrested
A deputy responded to a BOLO for a speeding motorcycle on Feb. 28. The motorcycle had then just passed Hendersonville Elementary School at a high rate of speed, heading toward Walterboro.
The deputy caught up with a gray Kawasaki motorcycle which he observed passing multiple cars at a high rate of speed. He tracked the speed at 94 mph in a 55 mph zone.
When he stopped the motorcycle, the driver allegedly admitted he was going 110 mph and that he had just gotten the motorcycle.
He was charged with reckless driving and taken to the Colleton County Detention Center.
Counterfeit money
A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver reported he was given four counterfeit $20 bills on March 4.
The driver said he delivered the pizzas to a woman at the Ramada Inn, but when he got back to the restaurant, he found out the bills were counterfeit.
Walterboro Police attempted to find the suspect at the motel, but no one responded to the door.

Attempted forgery
A man reported he got a phone call from someone wanting to buy his Kubota tractor and trailer with a cashier’s check. Deputies concluded the purchase might be fraudulent due to other similar cases.
The man agreed to meet the alleged purchaser. After the man received the check, deputies detained all subjects. The bank confirmed the cashier’s check was forged and two people were arrested.

Gun, money taken from wrecked car
A relative of the victim of a wreck on Cottageville Highway came to retrieve items from his wrecked car on March 6; however, the wreck victim’s gun and money that were supposedly locked in the car’s glove box were gone.
The wreck victim is still in a coma at Trident Medical Center and was unable to provide further information.

• 346 Pond Pon Plantation Ave., Feb. 26: John Deere 4x2 Gator and John Deere 5300 tractor. Both were found bogged down in mud in an adjacent field.
• 107 Our Dream Court, Feb. 25: golf cart, copper wire, aluminum reel parts cover, tool box containing miscellaneous bottles of oil, four batteries, a Briggs & Stratton 2400 psi pressure washer, heavy duty outdoor light with stand, two Black & Decker cordless drills, two Black & Decker skill saws, Craftsman toolbox with miscellaneous sockets, black air compressor, Porter Cable cordless impact drill with battery and charger, two Stihl chainsaws, Poulan weedeater, Craftsman weedeater, Porter power jack, ladder and miscellaneous hand tools.
• 1612 Hampton St., March 3: couch, love seat, two end tables, coffee table, 42-inch Sanyo flat screen tv, 42-inch flat screen tv.
• 486 Johnsville Rd., Smoaks, March 4: catalytic converter from the church’s bus.
• 116 Pintail St., March 4: black open trailer, 8x20 or 8x24.
• 524 Mill Pond Rd., Ruffin, March 4: catalytic converter from white Ford pickup.
• 3207 Hope Plantation Ln., Jacksonboro: 2005 hunter green GMC Sierra farm truck, Z71, 4-wheel drive with 33-inch mud tires. Has a wooden bench in the bed and a tailgate made from lumber.
• Pon Pon Plantation Ave., Round O, Feb. 25: power tools, two large chains, a chain saw, pole saw, wheelbarrow, come-along and gas can.
• 2138 Jefferies Hwy., March 6: Catalyic converter from work truck at Carmichael Propane.
• 120 Azalea Rd., March 6: 2013 GMC pickup truck.
• 321 Anderson Rd., March 6: Catalytic converter from Dodge van at Jaxco.
• 1231 Cane Branch Rd., March 6: A gold ring with diamond in the center and Miteva gold watch with black band and face, total value $7,100.
• 111 Copperhead Ct., Round O: Tire and rim from boat trailer.
