Colleton Preparatory Academy students showed off their talents on Tuesday, May 10th in a talent show.

More than 200 students in grades k5 through 8th grade participated.

“I’m thankful we had the opportunity to do this since we’ve not had any youth theater since 2020, and ‘kids don’t keep,’” said Jerilynn Hanna, music teacher at CPA.

According to Hanna, all of the classes participated together in a dance and song. Others read original poetry.

“There were several favorite acts, as indicated by the amount of applause from the audience. Isabella Baker caused tears with her song, “Half the Man” for her dad. Several of our young girls stepped up and performed solo dances,” Hanna said.

“The boys even got involved by singing a couple of redneck country songs!”

There was no winner school, However, there was a dance battle between the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys, all of whom danced the ‘Git Up’, led by student Jeb Bootle.

Girls who danced the ‘Hoe Down Throw Down’ were led by Alyssa Hanna. In the end, the audience decided that the boys won that battle.

“Fun was had by all,” said Hanna. “We can’t wait to do it again!”
