On Aug. 23, 2021, the FDA issued full approval of the Pfizer vaccine for those 16 and older. This full approval further indicates how safe and effective the vaccines are.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two shots. The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine is a single shot.

*The Pfizer vaccine is for those 12 and older. Moderna and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccines are for those 18 and up.

As of Aug. 13, 2021, the CDC recommends third doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines for immunocompromised individuals, which are people with weakened immune systems.
