Cougars struggle to put runs on the board against Bobcats

The Colleton County Cougar Baseball team fell in Region VII-AAAA opponent Bluffton High School in a team game series (6-2, 5-1). The Cougars also dropped a non-conference game against Benedictine 11-4. Colleton County is currently 4-8 overall and 3-5 in Region VII-AAAA.

Gabe Wolfe earned the start in the 6-2 loss against Bluffton High School on April 4 on the road. Wolfe allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one. Josh Caldwell threw two innings in relief. JC Poe, Warren Hunter, and Caldwell all had one hit to lead the Cougars at the plate.

In game two of the series, played April 11, Warren Hunter took the loss, allowing six hits and six runs over four innings, striking out one. Cohen Crosby threw three innings in relief. Grayson Cromer, Dustin Hadwin, and Preston Breland each recorded a hit for the Cougars.

Against Benedictine High School (Savannah, Georgia) on April 9, the Cougars struggled to put runs on the board. Gabe Wolfe surrendered three runs on one hit over one inning, striking out three. JC Poe and Cohen Crosby entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two innings, respectively.

Colleton County had six hits in the game, with Josh Caldwell and Poe each recording multiple hits.

Colleton County will travel to Battery Creek High School for a non-conference two-game series set to begin April 12 at home.
