The Colleton County varsity boys basketball team fell 74-71 against Beaufort High School Friday Jan. 15 on the road. The Cougars were without senior Alston Sherrill due to a death in the family.
Brian Hamilton scored 30 points for the Cougars and Deshawn Blocker added 13. Other scoring included Silas Holmes 12, Antawn Griffin 8, Dorian Gant 5 and Deshawn McNeil 1.
Beaufort was led by Phayes with 19 points. Other scoring included Holmes 16, Odom 14, Dennison 14, and Riley 11.
The Cougars were scheduled to host Palmetto Christian Academy on Wednesday Jan. 20 before traveling to May River on Friday Jan. 22.
Colleton County dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in Region VII-AAAA.
