Cougar Wrestling struggling with participation

The Colleton County Cougar Wrestling program is 0-9 following the first half of their 2021-22 season. According to coach Jaques Glover, most of the losses come from lack of student-athletes participating.

This year’s roster consists of Lashombre’ Johnson (113); Aaron Hayes (138); Gage Thomas (145); Avrial Portal (220); Brock McHugh (285); Demar Bodison (285); Jaquan Washington (285); and Joshua King (285). To date, the Cougars have faced Military Magnet (48-14), Edisto High School (63-6), Georgetown High School (36-24), Clarendon High School (30-18), Colleton Prep Academy (30-24), John Paul II (36-18), Bridges Prep (60-12), Edisto High School (66-6) and Colleton Prep (42-6).

Colleton County will begin Region VII-AAAA competition on Wednesday, January 12 when they travel to May River High School for a tri-match that includes Hilton Head High School. Then, on Friday, January 14, they will head to Academic Magnet for a non-region match that includes Military Magnet and Burke High School.
