Cougar Volleyball Continues to Win

The Colleton County Volleyball team improved to 5-1 with a pair of wins last week against Goose Creek and Battery Creek.

Against Battery Creek the Cougars won in straight sets 25-11, 25-12, and 25-11. Hannah Bunton and Carlie Erwin had five and nine kills respectively, while Maggie Kennedy and Akeelyah Daniel contributed 2 kills each. Jordan Slocum and Baily Cox led the team defensively with 2 digs each. Ashlyn Sarvis continues to set the ball well with 18 assists,

The Cougars defeated Goose Creek in straight sets 25-20, 25-8, and 25-11. Bunton had 4 kills, Ervin had 3. Kennedy and Daniel each had two kills. Slocum, Cox, and Sarvis led the team defensively with 4, 3, and 2 digs respectively.

The Cougars will attempt to continue their winning ways when they start region play next week. The team will play region foe Hilton Head on Tuesday, and James Island on Thursday.

Game time will be 6:45 at Colleton County High.

On Wednesday of next week, the Cougars will travel to Santee to take on Lake Marion.
