The Colleton County High School Cougar Basketball program will open the 2021-22 season this week with scrimmages against Bethune Bowman on Wednesday, November 17 at 6 p.m. The Cougars finished the 2020-21 season 1-8 overall and 0-4 in Region VII-AA and went 1-1 in the Region VII Post Season Tournament after a season hampered by cancellations and quarantines due to COVID-19 protocols.
The Cougars will participate in the Summerville Preseason Jamboree where they will face Ashley Ridge Thursday November 18 at 7 p.m. They will travel to Berkeley High School Tuesday November 23 for their final preseason scrimmage set to tipoff at 6 p.m.
Cougar sophomore combo guard, Brian Hamilton, was recently named to the Region VII-AAAA Preseason All-Region Team.
The varsity roster includes Trey Fields, Kenny Hand, Corey Frasier, Dashawn McNeil, Brian Hamilton, Mykeem Gant, Deshaun Blocker, Jackie White, Jahmari Washington, Nick Williams, Eric Campbell, Adam Buckner, and Tyshawn Hundley.
The JV roster includes Anthony Rivers, Chazz Frazier, Melvin Powell, Kijuan Footman, Hykeem Ladson, Javarious Doctor, Brandon White, TreyVeon Wright, Da’Veon Varner, Jamarion Harrison, Jamarius Powell, Daishawn Flanagan, Amauri Sanders, Amari Williams, and Shawn Winfield.
