Cottageville Mayor Tim Grimsley resigned at the regular Town Council meeting in Cottageville held June 5, 2023. Grimsley tendered his resignation mid meeting after the council voted to change its current form of government to strong council from strong mayor. The council voted three yea and one member not voting. A council member commented that Grimsley’s resignation came as a surprise as the hope was for council and the mayor to work together for the betterment of Cottageville. Andy Solomon will be acting as Mayor Pro Tem.
Grimsley’s resignation was given and accepted in good faith and without incident. It is the hope of current council and the Mayor Pro Tem that plans to make Cottageville better will not be hindered.
