The Town of Cottageville and the Cottageville Police Department are hosting a summer event for the community on July 31, 2021.

The Family Fun Day will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the town park located at 72 Salley Ackerman Drive. The event is free.

There will be concessions, water slides, and fun. Just bring a towel.

The hosts are planning a day of celebrating summer and providing an opportunity to bring the community together. As a post-Covid-19 lockdown event, organizers say this is a way to let kids be kids, enjoy the community and have fun doing so.

Sandy Nettles, Cottageville Town clerk, is seeking donations from businesses for some of the costs associated with the day, such as food and drinks.

“Officers will be there not only while on duty to make appearances, but off duty to enjoy time with their families and the community members that attend,” said Hollis Fuse, with the Cottageville Police Department.

This event is possible thanks to donations made by the following: Town of Cottageville, Cottageville Police Department, Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, Genesis of Cottageville, Cottageville Express, Walterboro Cash & Carry, Bill Bridge of Bridgeway Towing, Walterboro IGA, Steve’s Automotive, and other great supporters.
