Recently, members of First Baptist Church in Walterboro collaborated with nursing students from the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) to do outreach in an area mobile home park.
Dr. Jeff Hessinger and Errin Hessinger, both of First Baptist Church, said the Saturday, March 27th outreach was meant to teach people about Jesus.
“We are here to meet everyone here and show them the love of Jesus,” said Dr. Jeff Hessinger.
Together, the church members and nursing students also served hot dogs to residents. They also conducted children’s activities and gave free blood pressure checks to residents of the Lowcountry Estates. This mobile home park is formerly called the Walterboro Mobile Home Park. “We are here to give a big Jesus bear hug to this community. We want to be a part of missions and this is a local mission trip for us,” said Dr. Jeff Hessinger. “We want to embrace the people of our town and love them. I encourage every church in Colleton County to find a place to adopt and serve as a ministry and make it their own,” he said.
