Sunshine, swinging clubs, and a spirit of giving came together on Saturday, June 21st as local golfers teed off for the 1st Annual Par for a Purpose Golf Tournament, benefiting In His Name-Colleton, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness and hunger in Colleton County.
Hosted at Dogwood Hills, the event drew a spirited crowd of golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters, all united by a shared mission to uplift the most vulnerable members of our community. With teams from all across the state, the day was filled with competitive fun, fellowship, and a clear purpose.
“We’re beyond grateful, not only for the funds raised, but for the love and support our community continues to show. And the best part was having my family there to cheer us on!” said Executive Director Amanda Herndon. Golfers enjoyed a day of friendly competition, prizes, raffle drawings, a delicious meal, and swag bags filled with items from generous local businesses. The event was powered by partnerships with sponsors and the Fishers of Men Golf Club, who helped make the day run smoothly and meaningfully.
Funds raised during the tournament will go directly toward programs that provide food, hygiene essentials, case management, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis in Colleton County.
