Mr. Furman Columbo Walker, age 40, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday evening, May 6, 2020, in Colleton County as a result of injuries sustained during an automobile accident.
Born May 15, 1979, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of Mr. William George Walker and the Late Mrs. Gladys Craven Walker, who raised him. He was baptized at the family’s home church, Welch Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro. Columbo knew hard work in the construction industry. What he said he would do, he did. There was absolutely nothing in this world that he loved more than his girls. He also dearly loved his dogs, having passed with his beloved Pitbull, “Sugar” at his side at the time of the accident.
Surviving in addition to his dad of Walterboro are: his fiancé, Jessica Lauren Kirton; three daughters, Laynee Bryan of Ridgeland, Autumn Walker of Walterboro, and Baby Teagan Walker of the home; siblings, Darlene Lemacks of Walterboro, Renae Whaley of Edisto Beach, Elizabeth Butler of Walterboro, Jeff Walker of Walterboro, Kirk Walker of Charleston, and Sibyl Hiers of Walterboro; his mother, Wanda Walker Stone of Walterboro; his grandmother, Carolyn Jones Thompson and her husband Buddy of Walterboro; and many nieces and a nephew; as well as two dear friends, David Potter and Jonathan Bowden. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, John Furman Walker, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, from the graveside at Welch Creek Baptist Church, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro. Pastor James Baker officiating. Those that wish may attend and are invited. In consideration of the extraordinary circumstances associated with the Coronavirus, those attending will be asked to remain in their vehicles to observe the service and listen as it will be broadcasted. Directions will be provided as you enter the cemetery. For those that cannot attend, the funeral service will be live streamed from The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory Facebook page and website.
