Mrs. Michelle Harley Colson, 48, of Walterboro, entered into the loving arms of her Savior, Tuesday evening, February 18, 2025, surrounded by her family following a brave battle with breast cancer. Born November 17, 1976, in Charleston, she was the daughter of Tina White Harley and the late Tommy Lee Harley. Following her graduation from Walterboro High School, Class of ’96, she enrolled at Southern Wesleyan College where she received her bachelor’s degree in Addiction Counseling. Her fervent love of helping others was her passion in life. She worked for Pillars4Hope-Colleton where she was a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction. For several years she worked diligently ensuring the seniors of her beloved community received meals through her involvement with Colleton County Council on Aging. Michelle was the center of her family, being the integral part that brought them all together. To her nieces and nephews, she was the aunt that was everything. She dearly loved fishing, the outdoors, traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains, and working in her yards. Michelle lived by the philosophy found in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She faced and conquered all of life’s challenges with unwavering faith. Her life as a Christian was evident to all she encountered. She was a member of Walterboro Church of God where she was active in many aspects of the church’s work. At her church, she was Chairperson of the Senior Ministry, active with the Widow’s Ministry, served in the food pantry and had served as a youth leader.
