Coastal Conservation Summer Internship

This summer, SCDNR’s Marine Resources Division and ACE Basin NERR is hosting a coastal conservation summer internship program.

The internship will be a full-time paid position with housing options available.

The goal of this program is to create and promote conservation-based career paths for underserved students from the Lowcountry.

The SCDNR’s Marine Resources Division is looking for outgoing, motivated individuals from the Lowcountry to participate in the internship. Candidates from a diverse background are urged to apply.

Five interns will be chosen to work at the Fort Johnson campus, 217 Fort Johnson Road in Charleston, and will learn conservation from all aspects, including but not limited to biological research and monitoring, communication, fisheries management, wildlife and land management, and environmental education and outreach.

The interns will be provided with hands on experience in laboratory and field data collection practice. They will have the ability to work with marketing, event planning and teaching.
