Members of the Walterboro City Council and Walterboro Mayor Bill Young have received the Municipal Elected Officials Institute of Government Honor Roll award.

The council and Young came together on May 3rd during the regularly scheduled council meeting to accept the award.

The Municipal Association awards this to officials for participating in non-mandatory training.

All Walterboro City Council members participated in the training. “This training was to help you become the most effective leaders you can be, so kudos to you all for taking this training, especially during the pandemic,” said Ashley Kellahan, field services manager of the Municipal Association of South Carolina. “This is very impressive since you were only one out of eleven cities that participated and completed the training,” she said.
