PRESS RELEASE - The Walterboro Colleton Chamber of Commerce, in coordination with the Colleton Democratic and Republican parties, will host a Town Hall Forum on October 11, 2022, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Colleton Civic Center. The Town Hall Forum will showcase the four candidates running for the County Council At-Large seat and the Eastern District seat.

The format for the event will be two 45-minute segments, with the Eastern District candidates going first, followed by a second 45-minute segment for the At-Large candidates.

Eastern District

Candidates

Mr. Scott Biering (R)

Mr. Art Williams (D)

At-Large Candidates

Mr. Hiram Davis (D)

Mr. Bubba Trippe (R)

The candidates will have 2 minutes to introduce themselves. After the introductions, the candidates will be given 3 minutes to answer questions prepared by the Walterboro Colleton Chamber of Commerce. After the prepared questions, the audience questions will be selected, at random, and the candidates will have 2 minutes to answer. The number of questions asked from this category will be limited only by the 45-minute segment time limit.

Audience questions will be collected from 5:30 pm-6:00 pm on a form provided at the door upon entry. Audience members will be allowed to submit only one question each per person. Approval of all questions will be by the Democratic and Republican party chairs only. Once the questions are approved, they will be placed in a container to be used during the Townhall Forum. Questions pulled from the container during the first segment will be discarded to avoid repeating the question for the second segment.
