The Colleton County Cougars softball began their season successfully last week securing wins in their first two contests.

The Cougars would defeat Timberland 14-2 behind the pitching and batting of Bailey Cox. She would pitch 5 innings striking out four while driving in four runs on two hits for the day. S.C. State commit, Makayla Chisolm and Mackenzie Pellum would each contribute two hits each. Maggie Kennedy would add two rbi’s for the Cougars.

Against Woodland, the Cougars would ride the pitching of Cox to a 10-0 win. In addition to pitching five innings and striking out seven, she would also contribute 3 hits and 2 rbi’s. Lanasia Sanders and North Greenville commit would each add 3 hits each. Chisolm would add 4 rbi’s to help with the win.

The Cougar record now stands at 2-0 on the young season.

The boys soccer team would drop a pair of games to see their record fall to 4-2. The Cougars would drop a 3-2 decision to North Charleston and then losing to Philip Simmons 10-0.

The Lady Cougars would drop their only game of the week dropping a 4-0 decision to Phillip Simmons. Their record now stands at 4-1 on the season.
