First-year Head Coach Dominic Kahee is excited to get the season started for the CCHS boys basketball team. He comes to Colleton County from Cathedral Academy where he was head coach for three years. He wants the Cougars to be an up-team tempo and pressure on the ball on defense. Coach Kahee said, “I expect our guards to be able to penetrate as well as being able to shoot the ball from the outside. Defensively, I like to use whatever gets the job done , whether that be man-to-man, zone or full-court press. Whatever it takes to get the job done is what we will use.”

Coach Kahee said he will depend on Mykeen Gant and all-region player Bryan Hamilton to provide the spark on the team. Nick Williams will be the big guy in the middle with De’Veon Varner and Amauri Sanders as being the players off the bench.

First game is set for Monday Nov. 28 against St. Johns Cristian Academy.

Girls’ basketball Coach Wayne Lindsay says the Cougars are set to challenge Bluffton for the region. He believes he has the girls ready to challenge for the region. “I have a good group of girls and feel like we can do well this year,” said Lindsay.

Lindsay will depend on guards Makayla Chisolm, Shandi Brown, and Heaven Green to provide the spark for the Lady Cougars.

The Cougars were set to open play in Summerville Friday night against Philip Simmons in a Thanksgiving tournament.
