The Colleton County baseball team defeated Stratford 4-2, while dropping a pair, first to Wade Hampton 9-7, then to Cane Bay 14-4.

The Cougars would get an outstanding pitching performance from Daveon Varner, who pitched six innings, allowing only one run while striking out five in leading the Cougars to the 4-2 win over Stratford.

Cain Farnsworth would pitch the seventh inning for the save, striking out two of the three batters he faced. Offensively, the Cougars were led by Michael Ortiz and Brian Hamilton, with two hits apiece. J.C. Poe would add two RBIs, with a double and sacrifice fly.

Wade Hampton rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to win the ball game. Despite being held to four hits, the Cougars actually led 6-5 going into the last inning but could not hold onto the lead.

Despite the Cane Bay loss, Jaumaure Manigo paced the Cougars with three hits and two RBIs.
