Station 20 on Edisto Island received some badly needed renovations over the last three weeks. The metal building is nearly 30 years old and the salt air environment at Edisto Beach has taken its toll on the structure. A local contractor removed the rusted exterior covering and replaced the doors and rusted support structures. The building looks new now. The construction crews did a great job working around the apparatus, so the station could remain operational during the construction.
Town of Edisto Beach Mayor Crawford Moore comments, “Colleton County Fire/Rescue provides an invaluable service to the Town of Edisto Beach. I’m glad to hear they are doing some updates to Station 20 that covers our town. They are known for taking exceptional care of their facilities.” Edisto Beach Fire Chief Denney Conley in agreement with Mayor Moore stated, “Station 20, Medic 20 and Medic 14 are a wonderful asset to the Edisto Beach community, and they strive to maintain their facilities at the highest level possible to provide the best service to the community possible.”
