The Carolina C.A.G.E.R.S travel basketball team, composed of players from Colleton County, went 4-0 at the Spring Classic Basketball Tournament in Charleston.
The Gold Championship was won in a close, hard-fought game over the 843 Spartans, 46-41. In that game, Shawn Winfield, Brian Hamilton and Daveon Varner sparked the C.A.G.E.R.S defensively in the second half of the championship game.
During the entire tournament, Mykeem Gant, Tremari Davis and Nick Williams offense carried the C.A.G.E.R.S., while Gregory Gilbert Jr. and Robert Clark contributed to ensure the C.A.G.E.R.S dominance against teams from Georgia, Upstate, Columbia and Charleston.
The C.A.G.E.R.S are led by Head Coach Jay Davis, Director of Operations Cornelius Hamilton expressed his thanks to all of Colleton County and The Press & Standard for their continued support of this organization since 2005.
