An outdoor fire at a residence on Emerald Street quickly spread to a metal storage building, carport, and approximately one acre of woods on Wednesday afternoon March 26th. The fire destroyed two vehicles under the carport. Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to the fire and requested a plow from the State Forestry Commission. Crews kept the fire from reaching the residence on the property. Sheriff’s Deputies blocked Emerald Street. There is a statewide burning ban in effect due to dry conditions.
