Mr. Brooks C. Williams, husband of Deborah “Debbie” Barrineau Williams, passed away Tuesday evening, August 17, 2021 at the Colleton Medical Center. He was 72.

Brooks was born in Walterboro October 26, 1948, a son of the late Wilmer L. “Willie” Williams and Alvida “Vilda” Zeigler Williams. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and after his military service, began a career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked until his retirement. For the last twenty years, Brooks was a well-known fixture at Westbury’s Ace Hardware in Walterboro, always helping customers with sound advice and a welcoming smile. He was an accomplished woodworker and furniture maker, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to collect guns.  Brooks was a member of Great Swamp Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, and was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Mandy W. Marvin (Will) of Green Pond, and by his son Scot Williams (Keri) of Simpsonville.  He has seven grandchildren:  Gage, Cannon, and Blake Marvin, Saige Lipton (Caleb), Braden Cook, and Landon and Reese Williams.  Brooks has three sisters:  Janice W. Drawdy (David) and Judy A. Williams of Walterboro, and Joyce W. Mauney of Green Bay, Wisconsin.  He was preceded in death by a brother Wilmer Leroy Williams Jr., and by a sister Verona Williams. 

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
