Mrs. Mellissa Martin Bridge, 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  She was the loving wife of the late Mr. Ronald Wayne Bridge, Sr. Born November 16, 1946, in Cottageville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Howell Lucas Martin and the late Gladys Strickland Martin.  She worked a long and dedicated career with the Colleton County School District having worked in administration.   Mellissa Anne dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.  Traveling and vacation were her favorite pastimes along with an annual trip with her sisters to Edisto Beach.  Surviving are: three children, Joyce Bridge Smoak (Scott), Ronald Wayne Bridge, Jr. (April), and Kenneth Earl Bridge (Stephanie), all of Walterboro; two brothers, John Martin of Walterboro and Howell Martin of Virginia; a sister, Beth Shaw of Goose Creek; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wydette Ackerman and Myrna Mixson; and a brother, Andrew Martin.   Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2024, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Pastor Jonathan Mixson officiated.   Interment followed in the Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville.  Arrangements By: The Brice W.
