Mr. Charles Henry Boozer, Jr., affectionately known as “Charlie”, 59, of Edisto Beach, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his residence. Born January 3, 1966, in Asheville, North Carolina, he was the son of Ethelynn Hames Boozer and the late Charles Henry Boozer, Sr. He graduated from Hammond Academy in Columbia in 1984 and received his BS in Business from the University of South Carolina. He worked for Edisto Beach Vacation Rentals, LLC, where he served as the Property Superintendent. Charlie was very active in the Edisto Beach community, which he dearly loved. He was a member of the Edisto Island Preservation Alliance Board, volunteered for the Botany Bay Wildlife Management Area for more than ten years, and served two terms on the TIDE Committee for the Town of Edisto Beach. Charlie was dependable, respectable, and always available to help members of the community with anything they needed, whether it was taking care of their lawns, their pools, their dogs and cats, or anything else that he could help with. Charlie was a devoted and active member of Edisto Island United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Board of Trustees and the Men’s Club. He dearly loved his family and devoted his time to taking care of his mother and late father. He also dearly loved his faithful companion and protective sidekick, Trevor, his Airedale Terrier that he had for seven years. They loved taking walks and Charlie was often referred to as the “dog whisperer”. Surviving are: his mother, Ethelynn Hames Boozer of Edisto Beach; his sister, Ellen Watry and her husband Tony of Milton, Georgia; as well as his four nieces and nephews that he loved as his own, Allison Watry, Catherine Watry, Spencer Watry, and Benjamin Watry.
