The Colleton Prep Lady Hawk Softball team started their 2022 regular season with a win over Dorchester Academy (8-6) and a loss against Calhoun Academy (9-1). The Lady Hawks have rescheduled a number of games in the past several weeks due to inclement weather.
In the win over Dorchester Academy on March 3, the Lady Hawks came from behind to capture the win after being tied at four runs in the top of the fifth. Haley Bootle earned the win in the circle for Colleton Prep, surrendering six runs on two hits over seven innings, striking out 10. The Lady Hawks had eight hits in the game with Becca Martin and Sidney Bailey recording multiple hits.
The Lady Hawks fell behind early and could not recover in the loss to Calhoun Academy on March 4 on the road. Bootle took the loss for the Colleton Prep, allowing 11 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out seven. Makenzie Pellum went 2-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Hawks. Taylor Tomedolskey and Linley Jones had a hit-a-piece in the game.
Colleton Prep is scheduled to travel to region opponent Thomas Heyward Academy on March 24 and Laurence Manning Academy on March 25.
