Mr. Bobby Gene DuPree passed away at his home in Adams Run Saturday morning, April 10, 2021 at the age of 73 after a brave battle of ALS. Bobby was the husband of Sarah Nettles Dupree of thirty-two years.

Mr. DuPree was born in Bonneau, July 10, 1947, a son of the late Roy and Dorthy Dixon DuPree. He was a United States Navy veteran serving on the USS Hornet during the Vietnam era.  Bobby later worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and finished his career retiring after forty-two years from NAVSEA.  He was a Past Master of Mount Hope Lodge No. 128 in St. Stephens.  Bobby loved sharing his knowledge and teaching others.  He enjoyed working outdoors and fishing, but his love for his grandchildren topped it all. 

Bobby leaves behind his loving children, Robert E. DuPree (Shellie) of St. Stephens, Joseph R. DuPree (Tiffany) of West Columbia, Andrew A. DuPree of Ladson, and Edward E. Bryant (Maggi) of Williams. He is also surivived by his grandchildren, Kevin Timmons, Harley DuPree, Connor DuPree, Carigan DuPree, Ivy Bryant and Isabelle Bryan.  His sisters, Lynda Wyndham (LaGree), Lynette Ackerman (Don), Mary Lou Jackson (David), and Donna Powell (Mike), and  many nieces and nephews as well as a brother-in-law, Johnny E. Nettles; and three sisters-in-law, Myrtle Maull, Ernie Canady, and Mary Croft.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, April 13, 2021, from the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.   The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
