Blood drive brought in 50 pints

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church sponsored the Red Cross’ March blood drive that brought in 50 pints of much needed blood. According to Red Cross volunteers, at this time there is only a half day supply of blood on hand.

“This blood is desperately needed and will be used right away,” said Coordinator Norma Weeks. “Thank you to all my wonderful donors. We had 54 people to come in and 50 pints were collected.”

Summer White completed her five gallons of blood donation, P.A. and Terry Poumelle each completed five gallons, and Nick Olena completed two gallons of blood.

They all received their pins from Colleton County Blood Drive Coordinator Norma Weeks.

The next blood drive at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be on May 09. If you are not a blood donor, or not a regular blood donor, this is the time to start. There is a desperate need for blood now and someone’s life may depend on your donation. For information call Norma Weeks at 843-538-8950.
