Bessie Bates and Company are returning to the Colleton Civic Center on Saturday, July 20th. The 6pm show called Bessie Bates and Company, Love and Unity: An Evening of Jazz R&B, and Love Songs will fill the venue with music from a number of favorite local artists.
Bessie Bates, hails from Beaufort, SC, and has been singing since the age of three. She is a renowned singer known for her powerful vocals under the anointing of Jesus Christ. From her early days singing in church with her family, she grew both spiritually and vocally, later joining her church choir at New Life Deliverance Temple. It was there she collaborated with Shirley Caesar. Over the years, Bessie has performed alongside notable artist including; Twinke Clark, Rance Allen, and Dorinda Clark. Bates also sings renditions of favorite classis from Stevie Wonder and Etta James. Bessie is also a composer of original songs and compilations. She has her own albums out as well.
