(Friday, January 17, 2025) Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrest of a couple who were charged after a man was found shot to death inside of a vehicle. Alexis Dakota Davidson, 26, of Ridgeville and Timothy John Creel, 26, of Ridgeville were both arrested. Davidson was arrested on January 10 and Creel was arrested on January 16. Both subjects are charged with Murder.
“The arrest of these two individuals is a reminder of our unwavering commitment to justice and public safety. Violence of this nature has no place in Berkeley County,” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis stated. “Our detectives worked around the clock to ensure those responsible were held accountable.”
On January 8, Berkeley County deputies responded to the area of Old Gilliard Road, near Miles Lane, in reference to a vehicle that went off of the road. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Jamal Edmonson, 36, of Walterboro.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
