Bells Highway Accident Injures One

An adult female was transported to a Trauma Center following a single vehicle accident on Bells Hwy., September 23rd. The vehicle left the roadway and drove behind the guardrail. It jumped the Jones Swamp Creek and impacted the opposite bank and overturning between several trees. The driver suffered multiple injuries but was able to exit the vehicle under on her own power. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics treated her at the scene, then transported her to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Bells Hwy was blocked while Eric Bailey’s Wrecker Service used a large rotator wrecker to lift the car from the swamp beneath the bridge. The accident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol.
