WALTERBORO:     Mrs. Marilyn Canaday Bazzle, beloved wife of Lonnie E. Bazzle, passed away at her home Monday morning, June 9, 2025 under hospice care, with her devoted husband by her side.  She was 75. Marilyn was born in Walterboro December 17, 1949 a daughter of the late Henry Alvin Canaday and the late Frances Lee Langdale Canaday.  She was a clerk of court for the city of Walterboro for many years, before becoming the records clerk for the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, a position she retired from.  Marilyn possessed a huge heart, and her giving personality caused her to always be concerned about the welfare of others.  For over twenty years she was actively involved in the Colleton County Relay for Life, and she and her husband collected countless gifts for the “Toys for Tots” program through their membership in the Ace Basin Abate club.  She enjoyed spending time of the open road riding motorcycles with Lonnie, square dancing and crocheting. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her brother, Ernest Canaday, of Walterboro, and by her loving dog “Pepper”.  She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and countless friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to either “Toys for Tots”, or to the American Cancer Society.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
