Band winter ensembles win in region

On March 7, the CCHS and CCMS Winter Ensembles competed at the 2020 Carolina Winter Ensembles Association White Knoll Regional Contest in Lexington.

The CCMS Cadet Winter Guard placed fourth in its class performing the program “Streets of London”

The CCHS Varsity Winter Guard placed third in the Scholastic AAA division. The varsity program is titled “Karma”

The Band of Blue Winter Percussion placed first in the Percussion Scholastic A Class with its production “Apollo.”

Over 75 students from Colleton County High and Middle School participate in the winter ensemble programs.

The Band of Blue Winter Ensembles will next perform March 21-28 in Rock Hill for the CWEA Championships.

Up next for the Band of Blue is the South Carolina Band Directors Association All State Band Clinic at Furman University on March 15.

The Band of Blue is also preparing for SCBDA State Concert Performance Assessment at West Ashley High School on March 18-19.

The newly formed CCHS Band of Blue Big Blue Jazz Band will perform at the 2020 WHAM Festival in downtown Walterboro on Friday March 27.

The Band of Blue is ramping up efforts in fundraising for its trip to Philadelphia and New York City for the 2020 ABC-TV 6 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 26.

Band of Blue members are selling raffle tickets for a YETI cooler and a set of LeCreuset Pots. See any band member to purchase a ticket for a $5 single ticket or buy five tickets for $20.
