Aiken, SC – The Colleton County High School Band of Blue won the Grand Championship at the 2022 Silver Spirit Invitational Marching Band Contest at Silver Bluff High School this past Saturday. The Band of Blue scored an 89.2 and earned a superior rating. The Band of Blue competed with 12 total bands. The Band won Class 4A, High Music and High Overall Effect this past Saturday, October 15, 2022. A big crowd from Colleton County followed the Band of Blue. The Band of Blue had the highest score of the contest and was awarded the Silver Division Championship, Division 4A Champion and the OVERALL Grand Championship.
The Band of Blue gave a very enthusiastic performance, and the crowd reaction was outstanding. Directors Tom Finigan, Nick Infinger, Cathy Meshach and Clay Blackwood were very pleased with the overall effort this past week during practice. “We worked the band really hard this past week. We put in a lot of new changes in music and visuals and the band handled them well.” stated Tom Finigan. “The crowd response to this show is GREAT! Its such an UPBEAT show and it just feels GOOD! The band feeds off of the crowd too and makes them play and march even better! The design of the show drill and music really get you involved. The band will add a few minor things this week but is well on pace for the Lower State Championships next week”
The Band of Blue will travel to White Knoll High School this Saturday, October 22nd. The Band of Blue will march at 4:00 pm and will compete against 16 other band programs the lower half of South Carolina.

Upcoming for Big Blue on October 22nd is the 2022 SCBDA Lower State Championships at White Knoll High School. The Band of Blue plays at 4:00 pm and awards are at 9:00PM
