Six Band of Blue members from Colleton County High School and Colleton County Middle School earned chairs in the 2025 South Carolina Band Directors Association Region 4 Honor Band Clinic
The Clinic was held at the Summers Corner Performing Arts Center in Summerville.
During January of every year, over 1,300 high school and middle school band students from Colleton, Charleston, Dorchester, Beaufort, Jasper, Bamberg, Barnwell, Orangeburg, Clarendon, Allendale and Hampton counties audition for chairs in the four levels of concert bands that practice and perform together at the region clinic. Earning a chair in the Region Band honors is the highest individual honor a band member can receive.
Earning Junior Symphonic Band Honors from Colleton County Middle School was Percussionist, Darren Crosby.
Clinic Band members from the Band of Blue are Clarinetist Zyian Sanders and Trumpeter Reese Hiers.
Senior Band members from the Band of Blue are Sean Nunez, Jada Christian and Princeton Brooks.
Princeton Brooks and Zyian Sanders were also selected to perform in the University of South Carolina Honor Band Clinic. Both of these students performed at USC on Sunday, February 16 at the Koger Center on the USC Campus.
The Band of Blue and Colleton County Middle School Bands are now preparing for SCBDA State Concert Festival. Band of Blue Winter Guards and Winter Percussion are also in the middle of their competitive season and will end in April.
Band Directors are Tom Finigan, Nick Infinger, Clay Blackwood, and Cathy Meshach. Guard Instructor is Jason Johnson. Band of Blue Staff includes Taylor Fussell, Cody Dalton, Lilly Boyert, Anthony Crimely, and Joelle Glapinski.
