An ATV accident on Knights Ave. critically injured a 14-year-old male rider on August 21. The accident occurred when an ATV flipped over several times, striking a fence and ejected the driver. The driver was not wearing a helmet and suffered a suspected head injury as well as other traumatic injuries. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics treated the patient and transported him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center. CARE Flight flew the patient to the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
