“The American Pickers” television show is coming to South Carolina and the show’s producers are asking Colleton antique owners to reach out to them if they’d like to be in the show.

According to Kourtny Myers with Cineflix, the production agency for the show, “American Pickers” is coming to the Palmetto State during the month of March. “We’re looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of them!” she said. “The way we find people and collections for our show is through getting the word out so that people know we’re coming to town and can reach back out to us.”

“The American Pickers” is a documentary series that airs on the History Channel. The show’s hosts, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, look for bits of American history by combing through private collections of antiques, interesting finds, vintage signs, furniture and more. The show does not go to private stores or flea markets, museums, businesses or auction houses.

Myers said the show’s producers and hosts will be especially cautious amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they will talk all precautions and follow all South Carolina and CDC guidelines when speaking with the public.

“They are always excited to find sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them,” she said, in a written statement.

Anyone interested on being on the show should call “The American Pickers” at 1-855-OLD-RUST (658-7878) or email the show at AmericanPickers@cineflix.com.
