The American Legion presented numerous awards to first responders who have distinguished themselves over the past year. The Public Safety Awards went to Officer Ross Hantz of the Walterboro Police Department, Shawn Michael Banks of Colleton County Fire-Rescue, Robert Jennings and Tylor Allen of Colleton County Fire-Rescue received the Firefighter Certificate of Commendation.
