A singlewide mobile home suffered minor damage in an early afternoon fire at 1311 McMillian Street at 2:23 p.m. Monday Aug. 17.
A neighbor alerted 9-1-1 when they saw smoke coming from the home. The first units arrived to find light smoke coming from all sides of the structure.
Firefighters discovered a wall in the front bedroom that was on fire. They removed the exterior siding and insulation to extinguish the fire.
No personal belongings were lost, but the interior suffered minor smoke damage. No one was injured during the incident.
The cause of the fire was an electrical wire that shorted in the wall.
Units were on the scene for an hour.
