A two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of ACE Basin Parkway (U.S. Hwy. 17) and Wood Road in Green Pond injured two people and sent one person to the hospital.
The accident occurred Monday Jan. 4 at 8:16 p.m.
Two passenger cars collided in the intersection, causing one vehicle to block the northbound lane. The second vehicle crossed the gas station parking lot and received substantial damage to the driver's side, trapping the driver in the wreckage.
Firefighter-paramedics stabilized the car and used rescue tools to remove the driver's door and free the occupant. The 40-year-old woman from Maryland was treated at the scene, then transported by ambulance to Colleton Medical Center.
The driver of the other car denied transport to a medical facility.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
