Accident on I-95 injures three

Three people were injured, one seriously in a single vehicle MVC on Interstate 95 near the 61-mile marker northbound, Thursday evening June 5th. The northbound sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, struck a concrete culvert and overturned. The car received heavy damage and landed on its roof in a water filled ditch, trapping the driver. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived first and entered the car. The Deputies held the man’s head out of the water until he could be extricated. Firefighter-Paramedics extricated the man and transported him emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. Two older teenage males were also treated at the scene and transported to Colleton Medical Center in a second Fire-Rescue ambulance. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
