A doublewide mobile home was heavily damaged during a morning structure fire in the 100 block of Tanner Lane Thursday Nov. 3.

At 7:53 a.m., a passing motorist notified 9-1-1 of smoke and flames coming from the residence. Engine 1 arrived a few minutes later to find heavy smoke conditions and flames coming from the front of the home. Firefighter-paramedics deployed two handlines to the building and knocked down the flames from the exterior, then entered the residence by forcing the front door. Two crews entered the building and finished extinguishing the fire.

The interior received substantial damage and a portion of the roof was burned away. The home was vacant, but still had power connected.

Investigators determined the fire started in an electrical outlet on the front wall, then spread to other areas of the building.

Firefighters were on the scene for three hours. Water supply was conducted with tenders. No injuries were reported.
