The 2025 Regional Qualifier (District) Spelling Bee was held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the CCHS Performing Arts Center at 6:00 P.M. Mrs. Janis Headden welcomed everyone and made introductions. Interim Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cordelia Jenkins also spoke to the students & guests. District Spelling Bee Coordinator Danielle Hayes read the rules. Thank you to Ms. Angel Tucker from CCHS for being the official pronouncer for the Spelling Bee. Colleton County School District also sends a very big “Thank you” to the judges: Dr. Carley Robinson, Assistant Professor of English at USC Salkehatchie; Ms. Shiela Keaise, “ Ms. Literacy”; & Mr. Carl Coffin, Director of Colleton County Memorial Library. The champion of the 2025 District Spelling Bee is S. Norris-Donlon from Northside Elementary. Second runner up is A. Williams from Bells Elementary & the third-place winner is R.I. Perkins from Cottageville Elementary. Congratulations to all of the participants!! Way to go!!!
